Principal's Message

Hello! My name is Nicole Karaus, and I am the proud principal at Adams Elementary School. I want to take a moment to introduce myself to those who may not know me. I received a dual degree in special and general education from the University of Nevada, Reno (Go Wolfpack!). I received my master's degree from Lesley University in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on teaching through the arts. I then received my administrative credential from Gonzaga University. Before entering into administration, I taught special education and spent some time supporting student learning as a learning specialist.

I am honored to be the principal at Adams Elementary School. Adams staff is dedicated to building compassionate hearts, curious minds, and creating a community of character. Our whole-child approach supports a variety of learners and meets each student where they are at. We value and encourage diversity and believe it is our job to create a safe, positive learning environment for all students to grow and learn. I believe one of our roles in education is to help our students to become problem solvers. It is imperative to teach students to have difficult conversations, to advocate for themselves and for others, and to give grace and show kindness as we all grow and learn together.

Adams is truly a special community. I believe that the best education comes from a close partnership between families and the school community. I welcome and encourage you to get actively involved. If you do not know where to start give me a call, email, or stop by! We cannot and do not want to do this important work without you. It takes every member of our village to help build compassionate hearts, curious minds and a community of character.
